Snips and Snails Write a Shipfic

The Great and Powerful Trixie decided to take a long walk through the Everfree Forest to unwind after her latest show, which was of course a sucsess! The Evefr Everfree Forest is a dangerus place, but not for the Great and Powerful Trixie, who’s magic is the most powerful in the entire world!

The Great and Powerful Trixie dicided to take a break under a tree. The shade was refreshing, and the peacefullness around her was soothing to her soul.



“Heh, pretty good, huh Snails?” Snips asked as with a proud grin.

“Yeah, but, are we gonna have ta write out ‘Great and Powerful Trixie’ every time we write her name? It’s kind of a lot to write…”

“Yeah, you’ve got a point… Let’s just shorten it to ‘G and PT’!”



Trixie’s ear caught the soudn sound of somepony talking near her



“How does she know it’s a pony?” Snails asked. “It could have been Zecora, or Spike, or-”

“Okay, okay! I’ll change it already…”



somepony talking near her someone talking near her, and she decided to get up and go check it out. She came across a clearing, and she saw the most buuti beuutif pretty sight in the entire world, except for herself of course. It was Rainbow Dash, the most awesome flyer ever to come out of Cloudsdale, and the only pony worthy of shareing a stage with the G&PT!

“What are you doing?” Trixie asked. “Trixie? Oh, I was just practissing my super cool new flying trick.” Rainbow Dash said.

“Oh, do you mind if the G&PT watches?” “Not at all.”



“Man, we are writing geniuses!” Snips shouted excitedly as he hopped up and down. “So, what should we have happen next?”

“I think we should have them talk for a bit and learn more about each other, and have their feelings towards each other grow over time.”

“That’ll take forever! Nopony likes reading thousands of words just to get to the good part!”

“Yeah, you’re probably right… Then, let’s have them fight a hydra together!”

“Now you’re talkin’!”



The G&PT watched Rainbb Rainbow Dash’s new trick with awe. She had to admit that even though Rainbow Dash still wasn’t as Great and Powerful as her, she was still an awesome flyer, and was deffinatly the best Pegasus in all of Equestria! The best Pegasus and the best Unicorn… it was like the Princessess themselfs we’re telling them that they belonged togge together, and the G&PT and Rainbow Dash both knew it.

“Rainbow Dash, the G&PT never notissed before, but you’re the most amazing mare in all of Ponyville. No, in all of Equestria!”

“You think so?” Rainbow Dash blushed, but still looked awesome! “You’re pretty cool you’reself. We should totally hang out more often.” The G&PT walked closer to Rainbow Dash. “The G&PT agrees. And maybe it could be as more than just friends.”

Suddenly, a loud roar echod through the woods. The G&PT used her awesome magic to protect herself and Rainbow Dash and they both looked up to see what had attacked them. It was a Hydra!



“Ooh boy, it’s getting really good now!” Snails said as he began to drool with anticipation. “We should totally show the Great and Powerful Trixie this when we finish it.”

“And Rainbow Dash too! You think they’ll actually get together if we can show them how perfect they are for each other?”

“I hope so! Then we can write even more stories about them and it won’t seem so weird.”

Snips nodded and tightened his grip on his quill, a fire burning in his eyes as he once again set his writing instrument to his paper. “Alright! Let’s make this a masterpiece!”



The G&PT’s magic combined with Rainbow Dash’s high-speed super awesome flying tekneecs abilities made quick work of the Hydra. An exploshon here and a kick to the face there and the Hydra was soon running off through the forest crying for it’s mother!

“That was AWESOME!” Rainbow Dash shouted as she hoofbumped the G&PT. “Was there ever any doubt?”



“Can’t forget the G&PT’s catchphrase,” Snips said, feeling proud of himself for remembering to put that in. This was sure to be the greatest piece of literature to ever come out of Ponyville!

“Good thinkin’!”



“With your magic and my flying? Of course not! We’re the most awesome dewo in all of Equestria!” Trixie nodded. “We’re unstoppable! We can do anything… together.”

Rainbow Dash blushed again (but still looked aweome awesome!) as the G&PT moved her face close to hers. “What are you doing?” She asked. “Rainbow Dash, together, we can do anything we set our minds to. It’s so obv clear that us two belong together. Will you be my special somepony?”

Rainbow Dash smiled and her wings popped out of her sides



“Ewww! Snips!” Snails scolded.

“What? Scootaloo said that Miss Cheerilee told her wings do that when Pegasuses are excited!”

“Pegasi,” Snails corrected. “And are you sure? I heard from Diamond Tiara that that happens when they have perverted thoughts.”

“What, you trust Diamond Tiara over Miss Cheerilee?”

Snails thought about it for a second. “Hmmm… I guess, when you put it that way…”

“Right! Now, where was I?…”



and she nodded her head quickly. “Yes! Yes I will, Great and Powerful Trixie!”

“You can just call me Trixie.” Trixie said as she leaned forward and kissed Rainbow Dash on the lips. Rainbow Dash returned the kiss, and they both continued for a full five minutes, holding each other as they shared this loving moment together. “Trixie, I love you.” Rainbow Dash said.

Trixie rapped her forelegs around Rainbow Dash’s neck and nuzzled her lovingly. “I love you too.”

“It’s finished!” Snips declared as he held the paper up into the air. Snails clapped his forehooves together and cheered behind him. “C’mon! Let’s go show this to the G&PT, before she leaves town again!”

“Weren’t we going ta go ask if the school newspaper could print it in their ‘Young Writer’s Column’?” Snails asked.

“Yeah, so?”

“Well, it’s just that it’s closer, so I think we should go there first.”

Snips looked up and saw the Ponyville clock tower in the distance. He read the time: about 2:50. “Yeah, I guess we have some time. Alright, let’s go! No way they’re gonna say no to this!”

Snips and Snails were speechless. Utterly speechless. How could anypony, even Diamond Tiara, say ‘no’ to such a masterpiece of literature? They decided to ask her, calmly, what was wrong with it.

“What do you mean ‘no’?!” Snips asked, slamming his forehooves onto Diamond Tiara’s desk.

“Well first of all, it doesn’t hit the five hundred word minimum requirement. Second, we’re not allowed to include stories about real ponies without their permission anymore. Not after the whole Gabby Gums incident… And third, this piece of rubbish can’t even be considered real literature.”

“Hey! We worked hard on that!” Snips shouted.

“Yeah! There’s no need ta be so mean like that!” Snails added.

“Ignoring all the obvious spelling and grammatical errors-”

“Not like you could do better!” Snips cut in. Diamond Tiara shot the colt a glare, silencing him instantly.

“… As I was saying, this is nothing more than a sappy romance story, and those kinds of stories really bore me. They’re just so tiring and unrealistic.”

“First of all, they’re called ‘shipfics’!” Snips said, with Snails nodding beside him.

“You’re starting to bore me. Hurry up and leave already. I have important things to do, you know?” Diamond Tiara as she produced a hoof file from her desk drawer and began to run it against her hoof.

“C’mon, Snips,” Snails said sadly. “Let’s go ask Twilight is she can help us. She’s pretty smart, after all.”

“Oh, fine,” Snips responded. The two downcast colts walked out of the Foal Free Press printing office with their heads hanging low.

As soon as the door was closed, Diamond Tiara put her hoof file away and picked up the quill that was on her desk. She looked around for a bit, a confused look on her face. “Oh, it’s under these papers,” she said to herself as she lifted up the story that Snips and Snails had left behind. “Honestly. Who the hay wastes their time writing these kinds of stories? Writing about two ponies from real life being a couple…”

Diamond Tiara looked around quickly, making sure the office was empty. As soon as she had confirmed that she was alone, she pushed the papers to the side of the desk, and pulled out a sack of blank papers from her desk drawer. She placed her quill to them, and hesitated for a bit before she began writing.

Apple Bloom and Scootaloo walked through Apple Bloom’s farm holding each other’s hooves…
